Collingwood college is an established inner city P-12 co-ed school. The new sports precinct and oval formed part of a major building upgrade led by Smith + Tracey Architects and completed in 2019.
The landscape works included designs for a series of internal courtyard spaces linking the existing school grounds to the new sports facility. The new spaces provide a contemporary environment for students by creating a linked series of social seating and gathering courtyards with flexible uses and complimenting the schools teaching and learning philosophy.
The works also featured a new synthetic sports oval and running track facility which converted an existing heavily worn and dilapidated grassed play area into a popular play surface suitable for sports events, PE and general flexible uses and play.
Our role included consultation with the school leadership team, early concept design and master planning through to detailed design and documentation for construction.
