Rob Davies is a qualified and AILA registered Landscape Architect with over 2 decades of professional experience in Australia, Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong. Rob has a Post Graduate degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Melbourne and has also attended further studies at Burnley Horticultural College. Rob has worked for a number of the world’s leading design & consulting firms including Environmental Resources Management and a 3 year role with Grant Associates on site at Gardens By The Bay, Singapore. Rob has also tutored and lectured on Landscape Architecture at the faculty of Architecture and Planning at Melbourne University.
Rob is the founding Director of R D L A where he leads the practice and manages a range of landscape projects across residential, education, care, development & public space.
Rob has a broad background of experience both locally and internationally. His unique on site experience during the construction of the award winning Gardens By The Bay Project in Singapore has been central to his understanding of design and delivery of landscapes of all scales.
More recently, Rob has developed a particular interest in the contributions Landscape Architecture can bring to schools and learning environments. Successfully delivered schemes in this area include the AILA Victoria Award winning St.Bernard’s College Chapel project and Hawthorn West Primary School.
Rob has also continued to evolve his practice in the field of aged care and retirement living. He recently completed the Understanding Dementia course at the Wicking Institute in Tasmania which he applies to work specifically tailored to landscapes designed for dementia care including the recently completed Korongee Dementia Village, Tasmania.
