As part of a VSBA sponsored program to further inclusivity in schools, the new play area at Charles La Trobe was designed with a number of key design principles in mind to further promote and diversify the range of landscape spaces and play experiences available to students on the campus.
The new playground space has been integrated into the existing recently constructed landscape and rest gently within an existing central mound amongst a stand of mature eucalyptus trees. The play space features a central slide, natural timber elements, connecting rubber softfall paths, mudstone rocks seating spaces, new canopy trees and native under-storey planting.
Our team worked closely with the co-ordinating Architects, and School leadership team throughout the project and provided consultation and design services at both schematic and detailed design as well as inspections through the construction phases of the project.
